Hi, I am Lauren

Take a Peek behind the lens

I’m Lauren, the photographer behind Lauren’s Lens Photography. I’m a wife, a mother, and someone whose life and work have been shaped by family, caregiving, and connection. Although I’m now based in North Carolina, I’m not a native — my life has involved moving often, learning how to build home wherever we land, and finding meaning in the people beside me rather than the place itself.

Family is the heart of everything I do. I’m a certified postpartum doula and infant specialist with a deep love for pregnancy, babies, and the early seasons of parenthood. I also have a background in behavioral therapy and spent five years working with children with special needs in both educational and therapeutic settings. Growing up with an autistic brother and a father with severe brain damage shaped my understanding of patience, communication, and the importance of meeting people exactly where they are.

Because of this, I approach photography differently. My work is trauma-informed, child-centered, and rooted in observation rather than control. I take my time, focus on candid moments, and prioritize comfort and emotional safety throughout every session. I never want photography to feel stressful or performative — my goal is for it to feel like a memory you can enjoy in the moment, not just look back on later.
